Well, it's nearly that time of year again when I sit back and reminisce on 2023. It's been yet again, another interesting year – full of surprises, shocks and shenanigans!
I'd like to think I've stuck to my resolution of performing more this year (which has been great!) but understandably with the cost-of-living crisis, I've noticed a reduction in some of the classes which has been sad. I need to rethink a few things next year as I can't financially continue (some classes) if numbers are low, and I don't really wanna put my prices up anymore. It's a never-ending battle with studio hire, insurance and the cost of living. We'll see...
It's easy to forget what it was like during Covid, stuck indoors, masks and social distancing while wanting to go out and live each day to the max when you couldn't. Now you can go out and do what you want, some don't take advantage of that - which is strange. Get out! Go have fun!
I think for next year, I need to prioritise more with myself and use my free time more wisely then "try and fit people in "that don't fit me in with their lives. Not just that, but do the things I want to do rather than constantly waiting for other people to make up their mind – which just wastes time. Now that I have my Irish passport, I hope to be able to travel more as well as do gigs in bigger and better venues around the world! Since Brexit it's been alot harder to apply for work abroad - no one wants anyone from "The UK!" - sad times!
A couple of thank yous.
Thank you to all those that came and supported any of the shows I've been in this year. From "Jersey Beyond" to "Boyz Beyond" as well as private gigs, Christmas shows and solo shows! Also a massive thank you to all the children that have taken part in any of the dance classes, workshops or performances plus the parents that bring them each week. Lastly to the adults that come to my fitness classes... it really does mean a lot.
There's a couple of Christmas workshops next week if anyone has any children who fancy coming! Plus one last adult Christmas dance fitness class... all info on the "shop" section.
Hopefully, next year will be even bigger and better, and I hope you'll be a part of it somehow. I wish you ALL the most magical, festive and joyful Christmas!
